CCRI Newport Campus Electronic Locks

Background
The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) is seeking a vendor for a project aimed at enhancing security at the Newport Campus. The goal of this contract is to replace existing mechanical door locks with new electronic locksets equipped with access control systems, as detailed in the contract documents. This initiative aligns with CCRI's mission to provide a safe and secure environment for its students and staff.

Work Details
The project involves demolition and construction activities necessary for replacing existing door mechanical locks with new electronic locksets that include access control features. The vendor is expected to provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the completion of this work.

Additionally, an allowance of $30,000 is included for any additional locksets required to meet the College’s needs. Liquidated damages are set at $250 per day for delays in completion.

Period of Performance
The onsite construction is scheduled to begin on August 2, 2025, with substantial completion expected by February 1, 2027. Final completion is to occur one month after substantial completion.

The work will be performed at the Newport Campus of the Community College of Rhode Island, located at One John H. Chafee Blvd., Newport, RI 02840.
