ITB 20-0032 Sunset High School Interior Signage

Background
The Beaverton School District 48J is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB 24-0032) for a public improvement project aimed at replacing the interior signage at Sunset High School.
The project is subject to Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 279C.800 to 279C.870, which govern public works projects in Oregon.
The goal is to enhance the school's interior navigation and information systems through new signage, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.

Work Details
The selected General Contractor (GC) will be responsible for furnishing, installing, managing, and coordinating all work related to the interior signage replacement at Sunset High School.
Key tasks include:
1. Removal of approximately 62 old hallway intersection signs and patching/painting of walls as necessary.
2. Fabrication and installation of new signs:
- Hallway intersection signs: Approximately 62 signs measuring 23 3/4” H x 44” W x 1/8” thick, made with vinyl graphics mounted on plywood.
- Classroom signs: Approximately 335 signs measuring 5 5/8” H x 8 ½” W, made from acrylic with raised text and braille.
3. Coordination with school maintenance and summer programs during the construction period.
4. Use of Trimble Unity Connect for project management documentation.
5. Compliance with prevailing wage laws and safety regulations including background checks for onsite personnel.

Period of Performance
The construction period is set to begin on June 16, 2025, with a substantial completion date for Phase 1 (hallway signs) by August 15, 2025.
Phase 2 (classroom signs) is scheduled to commence during Winter break from December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will take place at Sunset High School located at 13840 NW Cornell Road, Portland, Oregon 97229.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a current registration with the Construction Contractors Board and comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding public contracts.
They must also provide a Retention Bond as part of their bid submission and are encouraged to engage minority-owned businesses as part of their contract execution.
