Wetland water control structure and dike repair at Fallsville Wildlife Area

Background
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) - Division of Wildlife is issuing a contract for the Powell Road Wetland project located at Fallsville Wildlife Area in Highland County. The mission of this project is to reconstruct and stabilize the wetland embankment and replace the deteriorated water control structure, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the following tasks:
1. Rebuild approximately 600 feet of dike.
2. Remove and replace the existing water control structure.
3. Line the dike with riprap and install a rodent barrier.
4. Mow or grub all vegetation up to 5 inches DBH, leaving no more than 3 inches above ground level.
5. Repair damage from burrowing rodents and wave action.
6. Regrade embankment slopes to a minimum of 3:1 in preparation for stone placement.
7. Provide and place crushed stone (Type 'D' Riprap) with a minimum thickness of 12 inches over approximately 600 linear feet of embankment.
8. Install new water control structures according to manufacturer’s instructions, including backfilling with fine clay material onsite, ensuring proper leveling and compaction without machine compacting around anti-seep collars.

Period of Performance
The construction is scheduled to commence upon approval of the project Purchase Order and must be completed by June 1, 2025.
