Preventative Tree Pruning: East District

Background
The City of Cincinnati is seeking a contractor to provide preventative tree pruning maintenance in several communities, including Madisonville, Oakley, Mt. Lookout, Mt. Washington, Linwood, East End, Columbia Tusculum, and California. The work involves pruning individual street trees or other publicly owned trees designated by the Cincinnati Park Board Division of Natural Resources (CPB-DNR) within the specified neighborhoods.
Additionally, the contractor may be required to perform removal, pruning, or cleanup of privately owned trees posing hazards or nuisances to the right-of-way and cleanup of storm damage in any Cincinnati community for the duration of the contract.

Work Details
The contractor is expected to provide all labor, supervision, equipment, services, and expertise for the preventive tree pruning maintenance. This includes executing the work in compliance with safety standards defined within the ANSI A133.1 and ensuring that all employees working within the minimum approach distance of utility lines are either 'Qualified Line Clearance Tree Trimmers' or 'Qualified Line Clearance Tree Trimmer Trainees' as defined in the ANSI Z-133.1 Standard.
The contractor must also have an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist in charge of supervising crews to ensure that work meets specified standards.
References from at least two companies or cities for which the contractor has satisfactorily performed tree work after January 1, 2020 are required.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period is for a 12-month duration starting upon contract execution. There is an optional renewal period of six months at the sole discretion of the City.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations for performance include Madisonville, Oakley, Mt. Lookout, Mt. Washington, Linwood, East End, Columbia Tusculum, California, and any other Cincinnati community where storm damage cleanup may be required.
