Paving and Infrastructure Improvement Project 2025

Background
The City of Springfield, Ohio is undertaking the Paving and Infrastructure Improvement Project 2025 to enhance its public infrastructure. The project aims to repair and improve various aspects of the city's paving and utility systems, ensuring compliance with city specifications and standards. The contract will involve multiple tasks related to the maintenance and restoration of roadways, including the management of utilities affected by construction activities.

Work Details
The Contractor shall be responsible for the immediate repair of any water mains, water services, sewer mains, or sewer laterals damaged during project operations. All materials for repairs must conform to city specifications and be approved by the City Engineer.

The work includes:
1. Removal of existing structures and obstructions as per Item 202 of the Ohio Department of Transportation specifications;
2. Pavement restoration using specified materials (asphalt concrete, aggregate base) detailed in Item 261;
3. Bituminous base pulverizing and shaping with calciment as per Item 262;
4. Rock excavation as specified in Item 503;
5. Construction of drives, walks, curb ramps, and steps according to Item 608;
6. Curbing as per Item 609; and
7. Maintenance of traffic during construction as outlined in Item 614.

Each task includes specific requirements for materials, methods of measurement, and basis of payment.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a specified period that will be determined upon award but is expected to include multiple phases throughout the year.

Place of Performance
The work will take place within the geographic boundaries of Springfield, Ohio.
