Background
The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is seeking support for the Alcohol and Drug Testing (ADT) program, which oversees evidential breath alcohol testing in Ohio. The program is responsible for training, testing, and permitting breath test operators and senior operators, as well as administering the rules governing breath alcohol testing and laboratories that test OVI samples. The Intoxilyzer 9000 purchase is intended to provide evidential breath alcohol testing in the State of Ohio, used by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Police Officers, and all other Law Enforcement Agencies within the state.

Work Details
The solicitation is for the purchase of Intoxilyzer 9000 instruments from CMI, Inc. The instruments are designed for evidential breath alcohol testing and come with features such as multiple wavelength analysis, a range of 0.000 to 0.650 gram/210 liters, accuracy of ±3% or ± .003 grams/210 liters, precision with a standard deviation of .003 or better, interferent detection designed to meet OIML specifications, Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 operating system, multi-standard calibration check capability using both dry and wet ethanol gas standards, calibration adjustment for multi-point calibration adjustments, pulsed source technology eliminating the need for a mechanical chopper in the analytical section, approximate dimensions of 19” length, 14 ½“ width with gas (14” without gas), and height of 6 ¾“, weight of 12 lbs. with gas and 10 lbs. without gas.

The instrument also includes an internal thermal line printer with fast print speed and standard paper width and length, external USB compatible PCL LaserJet printer, memory of 128 MB RAM and 512 MB Nand Flash with an optional internal SD Card slot for memory expansion up to 32 GB. The instrument comes with a standard one (1) year warranty along with additional options such as on-screen, mini, and full-size keyboards; external USB single and 2-dimensional barcode reader; external USB signature pad; multiple communication ports; adjustable height and angle; calibration standards verification using either a dry gas standard or wet bath simulator; optional gas delivery system utilizing standard 67 liter non-refillable cylinders traceable to NIST standards.
