Mohican State Park Pool Mechanicals Repair and Replacement

Background Information: Thousands of wooded acres greet visitors to the Mohican region. Mohican State Park's wild landscape offers truly stunning views from both land and water. Clear Fork Gorge, Lyon's Falls, and the Mohican State Scenic River are just a few of the must-sees for adventurers. Overnight accommodations include a modern full-service lodge, large family campground with pool, deluxe vacation cabins, and a primitive camping area with stream-side sites. The large outdoor pool is one of the major attractions within the State Park's campground. The swimming pool mechanicals need repairs and upgrades prior to next season. Objective: DNR is seeking an experienced contractor to diagnose, recommend solutions, and make the repairs on needed upgrades. Scope of Work: Below are some of the known issues and needed repairs. The Offeror is expected to visit the location prior to submission to make its own diagnosis and recommendations. Replace balancing tank. In order to be in compliance, there is a need to separate the waters of the main pool from the wading pool, and also replacing associated plumbing. The mixing tank(s) need to be tied into the current boiler to ensure heating at both pools. Replace sand filters and all plumbing associated with the sand filters for main pool and wading pool in pool pump room. This would require new chemical feeders/dispensers to both the main pool and wading pool. Ensure plumbing is replaced to and from holding tanks and sand filters to both main pool and wading pool. Move emergency shut off outside of the pool pump room up to ground level. Add automatic water level control equipment in conjunction with new balancing tanks. Run new water service line from main water line to pool pump room for both main pool and wading pool. Collect all necessary permits in accordance with state and local law, as well as Ohio Department of Health. All work and equipment to be completed in compliance with state and local law, and Ohio Department of Health standards. Technical Proposal: Offeror's response should address the following: Company history and years of relevant experience repairing the mechanical systems of commercial pools. Provide examples of projects of similar scope performed for a government or other public agency, or commercial company. Provide examples, with descriptions. Photos are encouraged. Provide work plan for completion of the project. Include a description of the system proposed. The end product should be efficient, cost effective and easy to maintain. Provide a proposed timeline that ensures the pool is operational by April 30, 2025. Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting: A mandatory on-site meeting will be held on September 27th from 11am 12pm. At this meeting a tour of the site and brief project overview will be provided. Offerors may ask any questions at this time. If Offeror cannot attend, advanced notice must be provided. A separate site visit is still required for the proposal to be accepted, however questions cannot be answered on-site and must be directed to the Ohio Buys inquiry for public response.
