Dot/Data Center/Fire Suppression Preventive Maint Services

Background
The City of Columbus, Department of Technology (DoT) is seeking bids to establish a contract for the inspection, testing, preventative maintenance, and repairs of fire suppression systems at their Data Center facilities located at 1601 Arlingate Lane and 1111 E Broad Street in Columbus, OH.

The goal of this contract is to ensure the fire suppression systems are maintained to meet safety standards and operational readiness.

Work Details
The contractor will provide inspection, testing, preventative maintenance, and repairs for FM-200 fire suppression systems at two locations. Services include:

- Semi-annual inspections to check stand-by batteries, wiring in initiator circuits, master control units, manual pull stations, electrical components, and agent storage containers for proper quantity and pressure.
- Reporting defects or malfunctions.
- Emergency repair services.
- Refilling FM-200 containers within 24 hours after notification.
- Providing annual training for City staff.

All work must meet or exceed City, State, and Federal safety guidelines. The contractor must have Fenwal Manufacturer Certified technicians and will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment based on industry-standard practices.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026 with the possibility of three additional one-year renewals upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Data Center facilities located at 1601 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, OH 43228 and 1111 E Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43205.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have documented successful contracts from at least four customers similar in scope and complexity. They must complete a Police background check due to security requirements. Bidders are required to provide liability insurance with specified coverage amounts and maintain workers' compensation insurance for all employees. All subcontractors must have valid contract compliance certification on file with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
