Smith Street Bridge Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements

Background
The Village of Brockport is issuing this solicitation for the Smith Street Bridge Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements project. The project aims to enhance pedestrian and bicycle access in the area, aligning with the village's commitment to improving infrastructure and safety for all users. This is a Federal Aid Project that requires adherence to NYSDOT Standard Specifications.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means necessary for the completion of the work as outlined in the plans and specifications. Key tasks include:

- Rehabilitating the retaining wall, stairs, and concrete barrier along Clinton Street;
- Installing traffic signals for vehicles and bicyclists at both bridge approaches;
- Extending and replacing existing sidewalks with ADA compliant sidewalks;
- Constructing curb ramps and crosswalks;
- Installing bicycle-friendly plates on the open grate steel bridge deck.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be substantially completed by August 31, 2025, with final completion required by September 30, 2025.

The project will take place in Monroe County, specifically on Smith Street in the Village of Brockport, NY.

Bidder Requirements
There are no Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOSB) set-asides for this project. A Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 5% is established. There are no Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) goals. Bidders must comply with EEO employment goals of 5.3% minority employment and 6.9% women employment. All bidders must have an approved CCA-2 on file with NYSDOT prior to contract award.
