RFP - Ice Rink Management Services

Background
The City of Buffalo, through its Department of Public Works, Parks & Streets, is seeking proposals for Ice Rink Management Services. The goal of this contract is to manage the day-to-day operations of three ice rinks in Buffalo, ensuring proper maintenance and operation of the facilities while providing quality service to the public.

This contract aims to enhance recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

Work Details
The Contractor will be responsible for managing the following ice rinks:
1) Timothy J. Burvid (Cazenovia) Ice Rink located at 35 Cazenovia Street, Buffalo, NY;
2) Lafayette (North Buffalo) Ice Rink at 156 Tacoma Avenue, Buffalo, NY;
3) Bud Bakewell (Riverside) Ice Rink at 2505 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, maintaining buildings and grounds, providing janitorial services, ensuring safety and security of facilities, overseeing equipment maintenance including Zambonis assigned to each rink, and managing public skating sessions and rental rates for private ice time. The Contractor must also comply with the Living Wage Ordinance and M/WBE participation goals.

Period of Performance
The operational agreement will last for five (5) years starting from July 1, 2025. There is an option to extend the agreement for up to two additional five-year periods based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at three locations in Buffalo: Timothy J. Burvid Ice Rink (Cazenovia), Lafayette Ice Rink (North Buffalo), and Bud Bakewell Ice Rink (Riverside).
