The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is issuing a contract for Construction Management Services for the rehabilitation of Bayswater Point State Park. This project aims to enhance the park's facilities and address issues related to shoreline erosion and invasive plant species.

The park, located in Queens, comprises 12 acres and serves as a habitat for various wildlife while providing recreational opportunities for visitors.

Work Details
The scope of services includes:

- Preconstruction Services such as developing bid strategies, contract document review, constructability review, value engineering, cost estimating, and code compliance review.
- Bid Phase Services involve participation in pre-bid meetings, assisting with RFI responses and bid evaluations.
- Construction Phase Services include managing the construction project, maintaining budgets and schedules, managing submittals and safety protocols, and providing inspection services.

Specific construction tasks include the coordination of tidal breakwaters, a new fishing pier with gangway, asphalt pedestrian paths, elevated walkways, invasive plant removal protocols, and new native planting.

Post-Construction Phase Services will cover project close-out and claims negotiation.

Period of Performance
The contract term is 36 months with an anticipated construction start date in January 2026 and substantial completion expected by April 2028.
