Scope of work:

  • To produce tempered water for use in the Athletic Building by replacing existing two hot water gas boilers with two new natural gas boilers.
  • Safely disconnect the existing two gas boilers manufactured by Lochinvar and all necessary accessories and dispose same; disconnect water, electrical, drain, and gas disconnections Existing platforms /connections to remain and re-used for new boilers - updated as needed with Parks approval.
  • Procure and deliver to site two new natural gas boilers as manufactured by Lochinvar, Model# PFN1002PM
  • Install and connect the new two gas boilers as per manufacturer's Water, electrical, drain, and gas connections required. Coat existing boiler steel platforms with rust resistance coating before re-using it.
  • Disconnect and remove the existing loop circulation Procure and install a similar new lead free 1/6 HP, PR AB Bronze circulator pump as manufactured by Bell and Gossett
  • Disconnect and remove existing water temperature sensor. Procure and install similar new SPOT Aquastat Immersion Temperature Control, with1 2 Well (100- 240F) as manufactured by Johnson
  • Inspect and check all water and gas connections and lines in mechanical room and ensure there is no leak
  • Test new boilers and adjust water temperature deliveries to existing two storage tanks and at faucets and showers in Athletic Building.
  • Warranty: Furnish a one-year workmanship warranty and the boiler manufacturer's
  • Furnish to Parks the Warranty Certificate provided by Lochinvar.

Background
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is issuing a contract for the replacement of two existing hot water gas boilers at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park. The goal of this contract is to ensure the provision of tempered water for use in the Athletic Building by installing new natural gas boilers, thereby enhancing the facility's operational efficiency and safety.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Safely disconnect and dispose of the existing two Lochinvar gas boilers and all necessary accessories, including water, electrical, drain, and gas disconnections. Existing platforms/connections will remain and be reused for new boilers with Parks approval.

2. Procure and deliver two new natural gas boilers manufactured by Lochinvar, Model# PFN1002PM to the site.

3. Install and connect the new boilers according to manufacturer's instructions, ensuring proper water, electrical, drain, and gas connections. Existing boiler steel platforms must be coated with rust-resistant coating before reuse.

4. Disconnect and remove the existing loop circulation pump; procure and install a new lead-free 1/6 HP PR AB Bronze circulator pump manufactured by Bell and Gossett.

5. Disconnect and remove the existing water temperature sensor; procure and install a similar new SPOT Aquastat Immersion Temperature Control with ½" Well (100-240F) manufactured by Johnson Control.

6. Inspect all water and gas connections in the mechanical room to ensure there are no leaks.

7. Test the new boilers and adjust water temperature deliveries to existing storage tanks as well as faucets and showers in the Athletic Building.

8. Provide a one-year workmanship warranty along with the manufacturer's warranty certificate from Lochinvar.

The contract term is set for 30 days from the start date of work.
