Armed & Unarmed Security Guard Services for the Broadway Market

Background
The City of Buffalo, through its Office of Operations & Maintenance, Division of Buildings, is seeking bids for Armed and Unarmed Security Guard Services for the Broadway Market located at 999 Broadway, Buffalo, New York 14212. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and security of the market premises and its patrons.

The City intends to enter into an agreement with the successful bidder for an initial term of one year, with options to renew for up to four additional one-year periods at the City's discretion.

Work Details
The contractor will provide both armed and unarmed security personnel for a total of 150 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Responsibilities include:
- Entry and egress access control
- Roving patrols of interior and exterior areas
- Visitor identification verification
- Monitoring intrusion detection systems and alarms
- Responding to emergencies as necessary
- Preparing daily incident reports and special reports on unusual situations
- Conducting initial incident investigations
- Escorting patrons to their vehicles upon request.

The contractor must furnish all necessary materials and equipment such as firearms, radios, uniforms, and other items required for security duties.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is set for an initial term of one year, with options for four additional one-year renewals at the City's discretion.

All services will be performed at the Broadway Market located at 999 Broadway Street, Buffalo, New York 14212.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be specialized in Armed and Unarmed Security Guard Services with a minimum of four years of corporate registration or experience in the field. They must provide three references from previous clients for similar services. Bidders must also submit current professional licenses and corporate certificates with their proposal.

Insurance documentation including Workers Compensation, Liability Insurance (minimum $2 million), and Owner’s Protective Liability Insurance (minimum $2 million) must be provided within two weeks after contract award.
