Automatic Door Operators and on Call Services

Background
Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) is the largest school district in New Mexico, covering over 1,230 square miles with approximately 75,000 students and 11,000 employees. The district aims to procure Automatic Door Operators and On Call Services through this Request for Proposal (RFP) to enhance its facilities and ensure safety and accessibility for all users.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Preventative Maintenance (PM) services, equipment, supplies, licenses, insurance, delivery, and warranty for the installation and modification of automatic doors and frames with wall switches.

APS electricians will handle the hardwire connectivity to 110 volts. Services include maintenance and modifications to existing automatic door operators and related building fixtures. The contractor must have the proposed manufacturer’s endorsement and required New Mexico licenses to install and sell automatic door operators.

The contractor is responsible for all travel costs within the school district for project implementation. PM services will involve inspecting components of automatic doors, cleaning parts to prevent wear, lubricating contact points, and ensuring compliance with safety codes including the Americans with Disabilities Act. The contractor must obtain necessary permits and be present for inspections. Exact quantities are unknown but estimated at $85,000 annually; payment will be based on actual quantities ordered.

Period of Performance
The contract will be valid for three years with an estimated annual expenditure of $85,000.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the Albuquerque Public Schools district in New Mexico.
