Removal of Underground Storage Tanks

Background
The Village of Ridgewood is issuing a contract for the removal of abandoned underground fuel storage tanks located in the North Walnut Street Parking Lot.
This project aims to ensure environmental safety and compliance with state regulations regarding hazardous materials.

Work Details
The principal items of work include:
- Excavation, removal, and proper disposal of approximately 9 previously abandoned in-place underground fuel storage tanks along with associated appurtenances and materials used to fill the tanks.
- Excavation and delineation under the supervision of a New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) for the proper disposal of any identified contaminated soil.
- Backfilling excavations with certified clean compacted fill material.
- Collection and laboratory testing of required soil and groundwater samples by a NJDEP certified laboratory.
- Restoration of parking lot pavement.
- Other related work necessary for a complete project at the municipal parking lot.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed following the bid opening on October 16, 2024, with specific timelines to be determined based on project requirements.
