NDSU Heating Plant Boiler Replacement

Background
North Dakota State University (NDSU) is replacing an existing coal fired boiler (Boiler #4) in their existing central heating plant with a new package boiler (Boiler #11) that will operate on natural gas and fuel oil. The proposed facility is located at NDSU in Fargo, ND.

Work Details
The project includes seeking lump sum bids for one (1) 80,000 lb/hr dual-fueled boiler to be incorporated into the project. The proposed schedule includes technology and equipment vendor selection, environmental permitting, release for fabrication, construction start, delivery window, construction complete, and start up. The scope of supply includes a water-tube type packaged unit with top flue gas outlet, all trim, meters, instruments, and piping components.
The package also includes a control system based on the Rockwell Control Logix platform or approved equivalent. The bidder is required to submit complete shop drawings during the engineering phase.

Period of Performance
The proposed schedule includes various phases such as technology and equipment vendor selection in May 2024, environmental permitting from February 2024 to February 2025, release for fabrication in May 2024, construction start in Q1 2025, delivery window in Q2 2025, construction complete in Q4 2025, and start up in Q4 2025.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at North Dakota State University Heating Plant located at 1235 Bolley Drive, Fargo, ND 58102.
