In Person Medical Interpreting Services

Background
The State of North Dakota, through the Southeast Human Service Center, is seeking bids for in-person medical interpreting services. The goal of this contract is to provide essential interpreting services for non-English speaking clients during appointments and home visits, ensuring effective communication in medical settings. This initiative supports the state's commitment to serving diverse populations and improving access to healthcare services.

Work Details
The contractor will provide in-person medical interpreting services on an as-needed basis for client appointments and home visits. Services must cover common languages required by non-English speaking clients, including but not limited to:

- Krahn
- Arabic
- Bosnian
- Dari
- Farsi
- Kinyarwanda
- Kirundi
- Kurdish
- Oromo
- Pashto
- Persian
- Somali
- Swahili
- Spanish
- Nepali
- Vietnamese.

Each interpreter must receive annual training on medical interpreting. The state will pay a minimum fee for 60 minutes of service and will compensate for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. The contract includes a provision for billing at the nearest 15-minute unit.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins on July 1, 2025, and ends on June 30, 2027. There is an option to extend the contract for an additional period not exceeding 12 months beyond the termination date.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Southeast Human Service Center located at 2624 9th Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103.
