Wire Pasture Access Development at Lumber River State Park

Background
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, specifically the Division of Parks and Recreation, is issuing a solicitation for the development of the Wire Pasture Access at Lumber River State Park.

The project aims to enhance visitor access and facilities within the park, aligning with the agency's mission to preserve and promote North Carolina's natural resources.

Work Details
The project includes the construction of a 5,005 square foot Contact Station featuring a breezeway and exterior bathrooms with a shingled roof.

Additionally, a new 2,480 square foot Open Pavilion with a metal roof will be constructed. The scope also includes a paved parking area, a gravel overflow parking area, and improvements to an existing paved road.

The Contact Station will consist of an exhibit area, reception area, office spaces, a classroom, breakroom, mechanical room, and storage spaces. The exterior bathrooms will include unisex facilities along with storage and combination bathroom/changing areas.

Two alternates are considered: G-1 for medium duty asphalt in the overflow parking area and G-2 for a concrete informational/educational trail.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to begin upon award. Completion is anticipated following the standard construction timeline as outlined in the bid documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Lumber River State Park located at 11764 US HWY 74 W, Maxton, NC 28364.
