Wilkes Road Recycling Facility Improvements Project

Background
Cumberland County Solid Waste Management aims to enhance the operations of the Wilkes Road Recycling Facility. The contract focuses on installing a covered maintenance structure and making improvements to the compost site, which are essential for efficient waste management and recycling operations.

Work Details
The project involves the following key components:

1. Installation of a pre-manufactured metal building approximately 2,400 square feet with partially covered sides.

2. Surfacing of part of the building area with concrete and the remaining area with compacted stone.

3. Foundation support using helical anchors as proposed by the contractor.

4. Improvements to the compost site, including importing approximately 25,000 cubic yards of soil for compacted fill and an anticipated undercut of about 15,000 cubic yards.

The contractor must coordinate with site operations to minimize delays during these improvements.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of 120 days starting from the date of contract award, with work expected to commence within 10 business days after this date.
