Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Services Proposal for Johnston County Schools

Background
Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide solid waste and recycling collection services for a period of five years.
The goal of this contract is to ensure efficient waste management across all JCPS facilities, which include 23 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, 8 high schools, and various administrative offices.
The agency aims to promote environmental sustainability through effective recycling practices.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the collection of solid waste and recyclables from all JCPS locations using contractor-provided receptacles and containers.
The services include:
- Collection from 23 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, 8 high schools, and additional administrative offices.
- Provision of new or like-new flat style 8 cubic yard containers for municipal solid waste (MSW) and recycling.
- All solid waste must be delivered to a permitted transfer station or landfill, while recyclables should be taken to a licensed Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
- No fuel or environmental fees will be allowed during the term of the agreement.
- Collection schedules must avoid school intake and dismissal hours.
- In case of missed collections, the contractor must provide same-day service at no additional cost.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution by both parties for an initial period of five years.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations throughout Johnston County, North Carolina, specifically at all Johnston County Public Schools facilities.
