RFB: On-Call Basis Asphalt Paving - Multiple Locations

Background
Carteret County Government is seeking bids for an on-call basis asphalt paving contract. The purpose of this contract is to provide paving and maintenance services for solid waste sites, parking lots, park entrances, and other related areas throughout the county. The goal is to ensure these facilities are well-maintained and accessible for public use.

Work Details
The scope of work includes providing all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and insurance to complete asphalt paving and maintenance tasks as needed. Specific tasks may include grading, patching existing asphalt, applying liquid asphalt, milling asphalt surfaces, and installing thermoplastic pavement markings.

The contractor will also be responsible for traffic control if required during project execution. All work must comply with the latest North Carolina Building Code standards.

Period of Performance
The contract duration will be from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance
Work will be performed at various locations throughout Carteret County, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with E-Verify requirements as per North Carolina law. They are encouraged to make good faith efforts to subcontract with minority-owned businesses. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of commercial general liability insurance with coverage limits of at least $1 million per occurrence and automobile liability insurance of at least $1 million per occurrence.
