Renovation and Upgrade Services for Whiteville DMV/SHP Offices

Background
The NC Department of Transportation is issuing a solicitation for the renovation and upgrade of the Whiteville DMV/SHP Offices. The project aims to enhance the facilities for the State Highway Patrol and improve service delivery in the region. The contract involves both new construction and renovation work.

Work Details
The project includes:

1) New Construction of a 5,338 square foot office for the State Highway Patrol, designed as a single-story, on-slab, conventional structure.

2) Renovation of an existing 2,988 square foot building which will undergo substantial interior demolition and conventional construction.

3) An Add Alternate that consists of constructing a new 1,708 square foot utility building, also a single-story conventional structure. This includes demolition of an existing fuel station, installation of a new canopy, fuel dispensing equipment, and controls. The project will also involve work on an existing underground 10,000-gallon fuel tank.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within the stipulated timeframe following bid acceptance on May 8, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at two locations: the Resident Engineers Office at 1194 Prison Camp Rd, Whiteville, NC 28472 and the project site located at 917 Washington Street, Whiteville, NC 28472.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a proper license as required under state laws governing their respective trades. Additionally, bidders are required to submit forms identifying minority business participation (Affidavit A or B) with their proposals. A performance bond and a payment bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price are mandatory. Bids must include a cash deposit or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal amount or a bid bond executed by a licensed surety company.
