The Support Services Department is seeking qualified firms to provide services to empty the dumpster, considered recycle removal. 1 This bid package is designed for Single-stream recycle service where all acceptable items are placed in one dumpster for collection and removed from the point of collection by emptying the contents of the dumpster into a container for transport to their destination for sorting.Definition for acceptable will be defined by you whether it is cardboard only or paper, glass, metals & plastics.If your company does not perform single-stream recycling as described above please provide a description of how your recycling process works along with all equipment to be provided at each site. Note: The period to end questions shall be March 14, 2025 at noon.NOTE: A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCEFor all prospective offerors is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. March 11, 2025 at the Support Services Department. Attendance at this conference is a prerequisite for consideration of an offeror's proposal. Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for emptying recycle dumpsters located at various sites in Lexington, NC. Each site has a designated dumpster size and frequency of service as follows:
- 925 N Main Street (8 cubic yards, 2 times per month)
- 949 N Main Street (8 cubic yards, 1 time per month)
- 913 Greensboro Street (8 cubic yards, 2 times per month)
- 915 Greensboro Street (8 cubic yards, 2 times per month)
- 602 S. Main Street (8 cubic yards, 1 time per month)
- 555 W Center Street Ext (8 cubic yards, 1 time per month)
- 490 Glendale Road (8 cubic yards, 1 time per month)
- 2511 E US Hwy 64 (8 cubic yards, 1 time per month)
The contractor must ensure that no mileage rates or fuel surcharges are included in pricing; these costs should be factored into the unit pricing as an 'all-in' cost. All recycle dumpsters are county-owned. Additionally, the contractor must define acceptable recyclable materials and provide a description of their recycling process if they do not perform single-stream recycling.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on June 30, 2026. There is an option for four additional one-year renewals based on mutual agreement.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed at designated locations in Lexington, North Carolina.
