Rebid for Security Netting Installation at Roanoke River Correctional Institution

Background
The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections is issuing a solicitation for the installation of security netting at the Roanoke River Correctional Institution. The purpose of this contract is to enhance security measures within the facility, ensuring a safer environment for both staff and inmates.

This project is identified under State Project ID Number SCO # 24-28743-01A and Job Order # 4678.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of security netting at the Roanoke River Correctional Institution located at 1984 Caledonia Drive, Halifax, NC 27839. The work includes a base bid along with three unit prices as specified in the project documents.

The contractor must provide samples of the netting and rope border to be used in the project. Additionally, a performance bond and payment bond are required for 100% of the contract price. Compliance with all security requirements set forth by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is also mandatory.

Period of Performance
The duration of the project is expected to be 90 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date.

The work will be performed at Roanoke River Correctional Institution, located at 1984 Caledonia Drive, Halifax, NC 27839.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a valid general contractor's license classified as Unlimited as per North Carolina General Statutes. Each proposal must include a cash deposit or certified check equal to at least 5% of the proposal amount or a bid bond executed by a licensed surety company.

Bidders are also required to submit forms identifying minority business participation (Affidavit A or B) as applicable. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled, and attendance is required to qualify for bidding.
