Pool Maintenance Services and Water Quality Management for UNC-Wilmington Natatorium Pools

Background
The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking to procure Pool Maintenance Services and Supplies for two 36,000-gallon pools located at the UNCW Athletics’ Natatorium Pools. The purpose of this contract is to ensure proper cleaning, assessment of water quality, and chemical management of the pools. These pools are owned and operated by UNCW. The intent is to award an Agency Contract to a qualified vendor capable of fulfilling these requirements.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive pool maintenance services including:

1. **Pool Cleaning**: Daily vacuuming, surface debris removal using nets, cleaning skimmers and baskets, backwashing filters when pressure reaches 20 psi, hand scrubbing walls and steps with approved brushes, and maintaining cleanliness of the pool deck.

2. **Water Quality Assessment**: Testing water quality using a contractor-provided test kit in compliance with North Carolina water quality standards (15A NCAC 18.2535) and maintaining records on-site.

3. **Chemical Management**: Providing necessary chemicals such as Trichloro-s-triazinetrione, Muriatic Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate, Soda Ash, and others as required to maintain water quality standards.

4. **Service Provider Requirements**: Must have AFO certification, direct experience managing enclosed concrete natatoriums, familiarity with Neptune Benson Defender series filters and BecSys controllers (specifically BecSys 5), and capability to handle emergency service calls.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of one year starting from the date of final contract execution. There are options for two additional one-year renewals at the State's discretion.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Seahawk Landing and Village Residential Housing Units on the UNCW campus in Wilmington, North Carolina.
