Description

The removal and disposal of existing HVAC systems, installation of new HVAC systems, and installation of new line sets. All inspection and permitting fees are to be included in total cost. All work is to be performed in accordance with current North Carolina code.
Background
The City of Raleigh, through its Engineering Services Department, is issuing a solicitation for the replacement of HVAC systems at multiple fire stations in North Raleigh.
The project aims to remove outdated HVAC systems containing R-22 refrigerant and replace them with modern, efficient units that comply with current North Carolina codes.
This initiative aligns with the City's commitment to maintaining safe and functional facilities for its fire services.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Removal and disposal of existing HVAC systems.
- Installation of new HVAC systems, specifically like-for-like replacements.
- Installation of new line sets.
- All inspection and permitting fees must be included in the total cost.

Equipment specifications include:
- Preferred brands: Goodman or Rheem (or equally compatible).
- Minimum efficiency rating of 15 SEER.
- Air handlers must accommodate up to a MERV 8 filter rating.
- New digital non-programmable thermostats and electric heat strips where applicable.
- New fusible single throw disconnects rated for outdoor use if necessary.

Installation specifications include:
- Compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant reclamation.
- Reuse and flushing of existing line sets where applicable.
- Installation of liquid line refrigerant filter driers and new drain pans with overflow safety cutout switches as needed.
- Duct alterations for transitions from new equipment to existing ductwork, ensuring all connections are sealed properly.
- All electrical work related to the new equipment must be performed by the contractor, including any necessary upgrades to wiring or breakers.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be completed within one hundred eighty (180) consecutive calendar days from the date on the Notice to Proceed.

- Fire Station #17 (4601 Pleasant Valley Rd.)
- Fire Station #18 (8200 Morgans Way)

- Fire Station #25 (2740 Wakefield Crossing Dr.)
- Fire Station #27 (5916 Buffaloe Rd.).
