HVAC Replacement Project at Hargraves Community Center and Holmes Day Care

Background
The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking bids for the HVAC Replacement Project at the Hargraves Community Center and Holmes Day Care. The existing HVAC equipment is at the end of its useful life and requires replacement to ensure continued service and comfort for users of these facilities.

The project aims to enhance the HVAC systems to improve efficiency and reliability.

Work Details
The project involves the replacement of three (3) air-handling units (AHUs): two (2) located in the attic serving the main floor of the Hargraves Community Center, and one (1) located in the basement mechanical room serving the Holmes Day Care.

Additionally, two (2) new AHUs will be added: one (1) in the attic serving first-floor offices, and one (1) in a new mechanical room in the basement of Holmes Day Care to serve the kitchen and auxiliary areas. The contractor is expected to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary for completing this work as per specifications outlined in the bid documents.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Substantial completion is required within 90 days for Hargraves Community Center and 60 days for Holmes Day Care after that notice. A punch list completion is expected 30 days after delivery from the Designer.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two locations: Hargraves Community Center located at 216 North Roberson Street, Chapel Hill, NC, and Holmes Day Care located in the basement of the same building.
