Custodial Operations and Maintenance Services for I-95 Rest Areas

Background
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking a janitorial maintenance company to provide custodial operations and maintenance services for rest areas located on I-95 in Johnston County, specifically at Mile Marker 100 near Selma.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, sanitary, and operable condition at all times, reflecting positively on the Department and the State of North Carolina.

Work Details
The contractor will perform custodial operations and maintenance for the following facilities:
- Rest area service buildings (inside and out)
- Utility/storage buildings
- Vending machine buildings
- Outside lighting (excluding maintenance of 15’ and 30’ pole lights)
- Picnic facilities
- Water distribution system
- Sewer system.

The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, and supplies to meet the standards set forth by NCDOT. The estimated yearly visitation for these rest areas is approximately 502,771 people.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and will be completed by June 30, 2026. There is an option for two one-year extensions based on mutual agreement.

The services will be performed at the I-95 Rest Areas located in Johnston County, North Carolina, specifically at Mile Marker 100 near Selma.
