Background
The project is a construction project for the Irwin Creek Greenway Expansion, which includes approximately 2.4 miles of new greenway trail (asphalt and concrete) spanning multiple Mecklenburg County Parks and Nature Preserves with numerous access points, 7 bridges, nearly 500 feet of boardwalk, and all associated stream work, grading, drainage structures, furnishings, and plantings.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of approximately 2.4 miles of new greenway trail using asphalt and concrete. It will span multiple Mecklenburg County Parks and Nature Preserves with numerous access points, 7 bridges, nearly 500 feet of boardwalk, and all associated stream work, grading, drainage structures, furnishings, and plantings.
Additionally, bid alternatives include a trailhead parking lot and Pedestrian HAWK Signal.

Period of Performance
Bids for the project are to be received until 2:00 pm EST on Thursday, July 25th, 2024. The non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will occur at 10:00 am EST on Thursday, July 11th, 2024.

Place of Performance
The construction project will take place in Mecklenburg County Parks and Nature Preserves with various access points in Charlotte, NC.
