Bid 19-050725 Ward WTP Filters Rehabilitation Project

Background
The City of High Point, North Carolina, is issuing a solicitation for the Ward Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Filters Rehabilitation Project. The project aims to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the water treatment facility, which is critical for providing safe drinking water to the community. The goal is to comprehensively overhaul Filter Nos. 1-4, ensuring that the plant meets current operational standards and improves overall water quality.

Work Details
The project involves a comprehensive overhaul of Filter Nos. 1-4, including:
- Replacement of underdrain systems, valves, and actuators.
- Demolition of existing filter components.
- Installation of new underdrain systems with air scour piping.
- Upgrades to valves and actuators in the piping gallery and transfer pump room.
- Installation of new turbidity sensors and controllers for Filter Nos. 1-8.
- Installation of differential pressure transmitters and water level sensors.
- Implementation of a bubbler system for Filter Nos. 1-4.
- Replacement of the backwash water supply line's venturi flow meter with a ball valve and magnetic flow meter.
- Surface preparation and painting of piping and valves.
- Lighting and electrical enhancements in the pipe gallery.
- Replacement of the concrete walkway between the two filter buildings.
Additionally, all miscellaneous work related to these tasks is included.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by May 7, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Frank L. Ward Water Treatment Plant located at 121 North Pendleton Street, High Point, NC 27260.
