Asbestos Abatement and Demolition Services at Former Lowes Grove Elementary, Durham, NC

Background
The contract is issued by Durham Public Schools for the Asbestos Abatement and Demolition of the former Lowes Grove Elementary School located at 4505 S. Alston Avenue, Durham, NC.

The mission of this project is to safely remove asbestos-containing materials and demolish the existing structures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Testing and abating all asbestos-containing materials on site.
- Removing any Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) if present.
- Demolishing the structures and properly grading the site.
- Seeding the area with straw post-demolition.
- An alternate task includes saving 150 bricks from the 2-story structure and transporting them to DPS Operations on Hamlin Rd, which should be included in the bid as a separate item.
