2025 Black Creek Well #8 Pump Replacement Project RFP

Background
The Onslow Water & Sewer Authority (ONWASA) is seeking bids for the Black Creek Well #8 Pump Replacement Project. The project aims to enhance the water supply infrastructure by replacing the existing pump and associated systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and improving operational efficiency.

This contract is part of ONWASA's mission to provide reliable water services to the community.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to:
1. Clean and inspect the well, including biofouling cleaning and inspection using video equipment.
2. Install a new SimFlow Model SK8H pump capable of yielding a maximum flow of 510 GPM at 498' TDH and a minimum flow of 100 GPM at 325' TDH.
3. Re-install an existing 125 HP motor and install new rubber shaft inserts, stainless-steel shaft, shaft supports, bearings, and epoxy-coated column pipe.
4. Install a new discharge head with three water-level access ports.
5. Provide and install a variable frequency drive (VFD) unit for motor control, including all necessary wiring and SCADA integration.
6. Install new valve actuators on the waste and main valves with required wiring connections.
7. Install a new HVAC system within the existing well house, specifically an Air-Con Blue Series 2 mini-split heat pump/AC unit.
8. Disinfect the well following state requirements after installation completion.

Period of Performance
The contractor must complete all work within ninety (90) consecutive calendar days after receiving a written Notice to Proceed from ONWASA.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at Black Creek Well #8, located at 731 Firetower Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
