Language Interpretation and Translation Services Solicitation

Background
The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) is seeking to establish a contract with a vendor to provide Language Interpretation and Translation Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure meaningful access to services offered by MDHS for Limited English Proficient (LEP) and Hearing-Impaired individuals. This initiative aligns with MDHS's mission to support diverse populations in accessing essential services.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide the following services:

1. **Qualified Interpreters**: Proficient interpreters in languages including Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, French, Tagalog, Hindi, Korean, German, Russian, and others as required. Each interpreter must have at least two years of experience and demonstrate proficiency through independent assessment or certification.

2. **Qualified Translators**: Similar requirements as interpreters but focused on translation services for documents related to MDHS.

3. **Telephonic Interpretation**: A toll-free number for accessing interpretation services during business hours and as needed after hours.

4. **Written Document Translation**: Translation of MDHS forms and documents into non-English languages with specified turnaround times based on document size.

5. **Interpreter Training**: Training for MDHS staff in Spanish-speaking offices.

6. **Contract Administration and Reporting**: Regular reporting on service usage by language and agency division, including performance metrics.

7. **Interpreting Services for Hearing-Impaired Individuals**: Comprehensive interpretation services including on-site interpretation and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI). All interpreters must hold current certifications from recognized organizations.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the contract is one year from the date of award, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional one-year periods at the discretion of MDHS.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed throughout the state of Mississippi at various MDHS office locations.
