Criminal Justice Center Masonry Repair Tuckpointing and Sealing
Background
St. Charles County Government is seeking bids for masonry repair, tuckpointing, and sealing at the Criminal Justice Center located at 301 N. Second St., St. Charles, MO 63301. The project focuses on the North East portion of the building, ensuring that security protocols are maintained as none of the work will be performed inside the secure jail area.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

- Bio cleaning all masonry with Enviro Klean by Prosoco;
- Removing light scum underneath louvers;
- Tuckpointing 5% of brick and 15% of CMU (Concrete Masonry Units);
- Grinding with a dustless vacuum per OSHA guidelines;
- Lightly rinsing ground mortar joints;
- Installing Type 'N' mortar with tooling, texture, and color to match existing;
- Cutting out and re-caulking 100% of windows, louvers, doors, and stone coping caps using silicone sealant by Tremco;
- Painting exposed steel angles with DTM;
- Prepping, priming, and coating Radius CMU with two finish coats of elastomeric coating;
- Removing abandoned fasteners in masonry and repairing masonry;
- Replacing up to 25 bricks as needed;
- Sealing masonry with a clear sealer applied correctly to avoid streaking;
- Ensuring all equipment, tools, scaffolding, and materials are provided by the contractor;
- Adhering to weather restrictions for work performance;
- Providing portable restrooms; and
- Managing debris removal while restoring the site to its original condition.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to last approximately nine months from the date of execution. Specific work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

All work will be performed at the Criminal Justice Center located at 301 N. Second St., St. Charles, MO 63301.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all Federal and State Employment/Labor regulations including OSHA standards. They must provide proof of insurance including Worker’s Compensation and Employer’s Liability coverage in amounts no less than $1 million. A Performance Bond may be required if the bid exceeds $50,000. Additionally, bidders must submit a notarized affidavit affirming enrollment in a federal work authorization program (E-Verify) regarding unauthorized aliens.
