RFQ: Tree Trimming & Removal

Background
The City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, is seeking quotes for tree trimming and removal services. The City aims to engage a contractor with the necessary expertise to perform these services on public and potentially private properties as needed.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for all labor and equipment necessary for tree trimming, tree and stump removal, disposal, and restoration. The work includes:

1. **Tree Trimming**: Competent trimming according to National Arboriculture Standards, focusing on improving health and appearance by removing dead or diseased branches, water sprouts, suckers, and low-hanging branches.

2. **Tree Removal**: Complete removal of trees and stumps, debris disposal at an approved site, and restoration of the area. Trees will be marked for removal with specific color bands.

3. **Stump Removal**: Stumps must be ground to a depth of at least six inches below ground level on public property; on private property, they should be cut flush or debarked if necessary.

4. **Private Property Removals**: The City can mandate the removal of infected trees on private property after notifying the owner.

5. **Disposal**: All collected debris must be transported to the designated collection facility in Golden Valley. Infected materials must be disposed of per state regulations within 24 hours.

Period of Performance
The contract will be executed in two phases: Phase 1 from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and Phase 2 from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily occur on public property within Golden Valley but may extend to private properties with the City's authorization.
