RECS RFP Design Pedersen Building Upgrades SPRTC

Background
The Minnesota Department of Administration is seeking design services to upgrade architectural, mechanical, and electrical components at the Pedersen Building at Saint Peter Regional Treatment Center. The building was constructed in 1937 as a psychiatric hospital and now houses the administrative staff at the treatment center. The project includes the replacement of window/door assemblies and the addition of a central cooling system.
The building's window assemblies and perimeter door assemblies are reaching end of life and need replacement. The project also involves evaluating current electrical capacity, designing electrical infrastructure as needed to support the new cooling system, and studying the server room to determine if a dedicated system is required.

Work Details
The project scope includes the replacement of existing window/door assemblies, addition of a central cooling system compatible with the SPRTC’s campus Distech Controls system, evaluation of current electrical capacity, design of electrical infrastructure as needed to support the new cooling system, study of the server room to determine if a dedicated system is required, replacement of exterior metal panels adjacent to the building windows, and addressing building finishes where impacted by the project work.
The consultant will hire a third-party cost estimator to provide detailed construction estimates at design development and construction document development. The project is currently funded through design with bidding, construction administration, and post-construction phases contingent on receiving construction funding.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to run from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026, with the option to extend an additional three years in increments determined by the State.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at Saint Peter Regional Treatment Center located at 100 Freeman Dr, St Peter, MN 56082.
