BID-PW - Sidewalk Replacement Program 2025

Background
The City of Minneapolis, through its Department of Public Works, is initiating the 2025 Sidewalk Replacement Program aimed at maintaining public sidewalks and associated infrastructure in good repair for safe public use.

The program is developed annually based on inspections that identify hazardous conditions requiring removal and replacement. The City seeks qualified contractors to execute this program, which includes various concrete works throughout the city.

Work Details
The contract encompasses the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, curb & gutter, driveway aprons, and concrete alley pavement.

Contractors will provide all necessary labor, equipment, tools, and materials to install monolithic concrete sidewalks and ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps according to Minnesota Department of Transportation guidelines. The contractor is expected to complete a minimum of 1,500 sidewalk repair locations with a potential total of approximately 325,000 square feet of sidewalk replacement.

Work orders will be issued electronically by Public Works Sidewalk Inspectors detailing specific locations and scope of work which may vary from individual panel replacements to larger sections. All work must comply with the current edition of the City of Minneapolis Standard Supplemental Specifications for Construction and Minnesota Department of Transportation specifications.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to commence on April 28, 2025, or no later than eight calendar days after the Notice of Contract Approval. All work must be completed by October 15, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed throughout various locations in the City of Minneapolis as identified in attached maps.
