Background
The University of Michigan seeks proposals from qualified suppliers for Third Party Logistics (3PL) and Customs Clearance Services. The goal is to assist the University with logistics for domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with export control and international customs requirements.

The University serves nearly 50,000 students across various departments, including the College of Literature, Science and the Arts, Engineering, Biomedical, Pharmacy, and Michigan Medicine. The awarded supplier(s) will streamline the process for sending and receiving shipments globally.

Work Details
The primary scope includes shipping needs for all University departments. Suppliers must provide comprehensive services that include:
- Coordination with University departments to set up shipments
- Tracking of shipments
- Export/import assistance globally
- Compliance with export control regulations
- Familiarity with international customs requirements
- A detailed approach/methodology in proposals that outlines all necessary services and costs.

Proposals must also include risk management considerations and a high-level project execution plan.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to last for a period of three years with an option to extend for an additional two years upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed primarily at the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus but may extend to other locations as required by the shipping needs.
