Structured Cabling

Background
Caro Community Schools is seeking proposals for a structured cabling project to enhance their technology infrastructure. The project aims to provide necessary cabling services at two school buildings, McComb Elementary School and Caro Alternative High School, as part of the FY2025 E-Rate funding initiative.
The goal is to ensure that the schools have a robust and reliable network system to support educational activities.

Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for providing structured cabling services, which include:
1. Furnishing, installing, and terminating data jacks at specified locations according to provided specifications and blueprints.
2. Abating existing cables where applicable and disposing of them properly.
3. Installing all cables in accordance with product specifications and best industry practices.
4. Developing a labeling system for the cable installation that clearly identifies all components such as racks, cables, panels, and outlets.
5. Testing 100% of all cables and termination hardware for defects in installation and verifying cable performance under installed conditions.
6. Installing a fire stop system per specifications prior to cabling system acceptance.
7. Providing installation documentation including 'As-Built' diagrams and cable certification testing results upon completion.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to commence on July 1, 2025, with an anticipated completion date of September 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two locations: McComb Elementary School located at 303 N. Hooper St., Caro, MI 48723, and Caro Alternative High School located at 217 N State St., Caro, MI 48723.
