Solicitation - Asbestos Remediation

Background
The Northview Public Schools is undertaking a renovation project at the Administration Building located at 4365 Hunsberger Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525. The primary goal of this contract is to conduct asbestos remediation and selected demolition in accordance with specified guidelines and regulations. The project aims to ensure a safe environment for students and staff by removing hazardous materials while adhering to legal and safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:

1. Remove all identified asbestos-containing materials (ACM) including:
- Drywall (10,000 sq. ft.)
- Sink undercoating (1 sink)
- Wood panel adhesive (175 sq. ft.)
- Wood doors (23 doors)
- Metal tagged fire doors (2 doors)
- Ceramic tile with grout & mortar (100 sq. ft.)
- Drop ceiling tile (175 sq. ft.)

2. Conduct non-asbestos interior demolition which includes:
- Acoustical ceiling panels, grid, and suspension system
- Carpet, base, and adhesive down to the top of the structural slab
- VCT and linoleum flooring, base, and adhesive down to the top of the structural slab

3. Provide all necessary labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision required for completion.

4. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, MIOSHA regulations during the abatement process.

5. Submit a detailed work plan including employee assignments and equipment usage prior to commencing work.

Period of Performance
The estimated project start date is January 3, 2024, with a completion target by the end of May 2025.

The contract will be performed at the Northview Administration Building located at 4365 Hunsberger Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
