Construction Services: CDD - DDOT Shoemaker Garage Roof Replacement

Background
The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) is seeking proposals for construction services related to the roof replacement at the DDOT Shoemaker Garage, located at 5149 St. Jean Street, Detroit, MI 48213. This facility is one of five operated by the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) and serves as the primary site for fleet maintenance and storage. The project aims to replace roofs on two sections of the garage: Garage #3 and Garage #10.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- For Garage #3 (approximately 18,000 square feet):
- Remove approximately 1,000 SF of existing roof down to steel decking due to saturation.
- Remove & replace approximately 200 SF of B-type steel decking.
- Install fill insulation over tear-off area to restore original thickness.
- Clear rooftop debris and dispose appropriately.
- Provide and install a 50 mil, White, Duro-Last® Roofing System covering all roof fields, curbs, parapets, and walls.
- Install Duro-Last® walkway pads leading to HVAC units and at rooftop access points.
- Provide flashing membrane for all projections and termination bars throughout.

- For Garage #10 (approximately 10,000 square feet):
- Similar tasks as Garage #3 including removal of saturated roofing material, installation of new roofing system, insulation, walkway pads, flashing membranes, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.

Both installations must include a 20-year Labor Warranty and a Manufacturer’s Materials Warranty.

Period of Performance
The contract term will be for one (1) year from the date of award.

The work will be performed at the DDOT Shoemaker Garage located at 5149 St. Jean Street, Detroit, MI 48213.
