Build, install and furnishing of 3 cold storage pole Barns

Background
Muskegon Public Schools is seeking proposals for the complete build, installation, and furnishing of three cold storage pole barns. The objective is to obtain competitive bids to select a contractor who will handle the engineering/design, apply for all necessary permits, and ensure compliance with applicable laws. The project aims to enhance the facilities at Muskegon High School and Charles Hackley Middle School.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:

1. Constructing one (1) pole barn at Muskegon High School Campus and two (2) pole barns at Charles Hackley Middle School Campus.

2. Providing all materials and labor for the construction of the pole barns on-site.

3. Preparing the site with an underlayment and concrete slab.

4. Installing electrical power for lighting inside and outside, as well as door power.

Specific dimensions include:
- For Muskegon High School: One pole barn sized 40’x30’x21’ with a 25’x30’ section featuring a 16’x10’ overhead door with opener and a 3’ service door; a 15’x30’ section with a 10’x8’ overhead door with opener and a 3’ service door.
- For Charles Hackley Middle School: One pole barn sized 40’x30’x19’ with similar door specifications; another sized 40’x20’x14’.

The buildings should reflect the style of surrounding campus structures, including brick lower sections and stylish steel upper walls, with optional windows for daylighting.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to begin on October 16, 2024, and must be completed by November 30, 2024.

The work will be performed at Muskegon High School located at 80 W Southern, Muskegon, MI 49441, and Charles Hackley Middle School located at 180 E Laketon Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442.
