Armed Security Guard Services for DMVA - Alpena CRTC

Background
The Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center (ACRTC) requires armed security guard personnel to man entry/exit gates and provide other mission critical guard services. The center operates 24/7 with a primary focus on supporting ongoing training for the military and other units of law enforcement in the preparation of defending our homeland through special defense training missions and training task force operations.

Work Details
The contractor must provide appropriate trained armed security guards to properly service the requirements as contained in this contract. The guards must meet specific qualifications, including being able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, recognize dangerous conditions, deal courteously with employees and visitors, have knowledge of safety precautions and fire prevention methods, prepare clear written reports, operate a motor vehicle if required, remain alert and exercise good judgment, maintain poise and self-control under stress, read and understand regulations and detailed written orders, operate telephone and radio communications equipment as provided by the agency, determine the identity and business of visitors and employees, maintain integrity and confidentiality of the tour of duty, keep a critical eye to safeguard persons and property, speak English clearly, give directions verbally to the general public, summon emergency assistance when necessary, use state property including keys entrusted to their responsibility, NOAA Weather Alert equipment, building access control surveillance equipment system and detection equipment as provided by the agency. They must also be able to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner, perform basic mathematical calculations, maintain confidentiality of any information they may become aware of during the course of performance of their contracted tasks, be competent in handling firearms, possess a valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL), employ a quality assurance program ensuring identified gaps are addressed within 48 hours.
