Secure On-Site Destruction of Data Tapes, Hard Drives, Mobile Devices, and Off-Site Equipment Recycling

Background
The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking bids for a four-year contract focused on secure on-site destruction of data tapes, hard drives, mobile devices, and off-site equipment recycling. This initiative aims to ensure compliance with security standards while effectively managing the disposal of sensitive IT equipment.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:

1. Secure on-site destruction of:
- 3,000 hard drives annually
- 4,000 data tapes annually
- 3,000 mobile devices (cell phones) annually

2. Off-site equipment recycling for:
- 100 live scan machines annually
- 100 printers annually
- 150 LED/plasma TVs annually
- 100 fax machines annually
- 100 copiers annually
- 200 CRT monitors annually
- 50 servers and switches annually
- 700 telephone equipment units annually.

The contractor must comply with NIST standards for secure destruction and ensure that all residual materials are recycled according to local, state, and federal regulations. The physical destruction process must be witnessed by designated DPSCS staff during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Certificates of Destruction must be provided for each item destroyed.

Period of Performance
The contract will last for a period of four years from the date of award.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at two primary locations:

1. ITCD Warehouse, 7122 Ambassador Rd, Windsor Mill, MD 21244 (for hard drives and mobile devices excluding cell phones).
2. Data Center, 1201 Reisterstown Rd, Executive Bldg F, Pikesville, MD 21208 (for data tapes and cell phones).
