RFP # DPW25-003-West Hyattsville Green Alley-Engineering/Construction

Background
The City of Hyattsville, Maryland, is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP # DPW25-003) to select a Contractor for the Engineering and Construction of the West Hyattsville Green Alley. The goal of this project is to enhance environmental resilience through sustainable stormwater management solutions while addressing community safety concerns related to loitering.

Work Details
The selected Contractor will be responsible for conducting comprehensive site evaluations; developing final engineering design plans; preparing construction documents that incorporate sustainable stormwater management solutions including permeable paving and bioswales; integrating pedestrian-friendly elements; and applying Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles. Specific CPTED measures include natural surveillance, territorial reinforcement, access control, and adequate lighting.

Deliverables include cost estimates, assistance with permitting, community engagement presentations, a phased construction plan, and ongoing collaboration with city staff.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon execution and will require the Contractor to begin work within 10 calendar days of receiving the notice to proceed. The duration of the project will be contingent on the completion of all tasks outlined in the proposal.
