Noyes AHU Replacement for Spring Grove Hospital Center

Background
The Maryland Department of Health – Spring Grove Hospital Center is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to obtain services for the removal and replacement of the existing air handling unit (AHU) on the 2nd floor of the Noyes Building located at 55 Wade Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland.

The goal is to install a new, cost and energy-efficient AHU as part of the hospital's commitment to providing quality mental health services. Spring Grove Hospital Center is fully Joint Commission accredited and CMS certified, serving as a key facility in Maryland's mental health services delivery system.

Work Details
The contract includes:
1. Removal and disposal of the existing 'Magic Aire' Model #: VWBC-5 Serial #: 80152 AHU.
2. Installation of a new energy-efficient AHU that meets specified voltage, horsepower, phases, and cycles.
3. Assessment of the current HVAC system to ensure compatibility with the new AHU.
4. Tasks associated with site preparation, disconnection of peripheral components, and installation of the new AHU including:
- Disconnecting high voltage and low voltage wiring.
- Isolating and draining existing dual temperature coils.
- Modifying and installing new ductwork as required.
- Providing and installing a 2” filter rack.
- Re-piping existing dual temperature piping to new coils.
- Insulating piping per industry standards.
- Providing new condensate piping and P-Trap as required.
- Completing startup and operational tests/checks of the new AHU.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is two (2) months or sixty (60) days from the date of contract award with no option periods.

The work will be performed at Spring Grove Hospital Center, Noyes Building, 2nd Floor, 55 Wade Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228.
