Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commissions (MPCTC) Boiler Replacement

Background
The Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure services for the replacement of a boiler at Dorm #2 of the Maryland Police Correctional Training Center (MPCTC).

The goal is to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards while providing necessary heating services for the facility. The existing domestic water boiler needs to be replaced due to its current condition.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Disconnecting and safely removing the existing Lochinvar Model 1500PM boiler and disposing of it in compliance with local environmental regulations.
2. Providing and installing one (1) Lochinvar Power-Fin Model PFN1501PM-M9 Gas-Fired Boiler, setting it on the existing concrete pad.
3. Modifying and reconnecting hot water supply piping to the new boiler, replacing an Armstrong inline boiler circulating pump, a Lawler Model 802 thermostatic mixing valve, and insulating all new hot water piping.
4. Reconnecting gas piping and power wiring to the new boiler, including a new disconnect switch and emergency shutoff circuit.
5. Performing startup and operational testing of the new boiler, notifying the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (DLLR) for inspection.

Period of Performance
The work is to be completed within 45 business days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Maryland Police Correctional Training Center located at 6852 4th Street, Sykesville, Maryland 21784.
