Laundry Services for Eastern Shore Hospital Center

Background
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure comprehensive laundry services for the Eastern Shore Hospital Center (ESHC), an inpatient adult psychiatric facility located at 5262 Woods Road, Cambridge, Maryland.

The facility operates 24/7 and has a capacity of 84 persons. The goal of this contract is to ensure the provision of necessary laundry services to support the hospital's operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive laundry services including:
1. **Soiled Laundry Pick-Up**: Pick-up of soiled laundry once a week on Tuesdays from ESHC, using non-absorbent, mobile containers provided by the contractor.
2. **Clean Laundry Delivery**: Delivery of clean laundry once a week on Tuesdays in approved containers/carts. An average of 7,500 pounds of clean laundry is expected to be delivered monthly.
3. **Laboratory Testing**: Conduct quarterly testing for residual pathogenic activity on all laundry and provide documented results to ESHC.
4. **Inventory Maintenance**: Maintain minimum inventory levels for various items including sheets, towels, and blankets as specified in the solicitation.
5. **Packaging**: Clean laundry must be shrink-wrapped with specified quantities per package (e.g., 10 flat sheets per pack).
6. **Inspection Rights**: ESHC reserves the right to inspect contractor facilities at any time during normal working hours.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a two-year base period with three one-year option periods, totaling up to five years.
