Background
Charles County Public Schools, located in La Plata, Maryland, is seeking qualified and experienced contractors for the Indian Head Elementary School Open Space Enclosure project. The primary goal of this contract is to provide selective interior demolition and extensive renovation within existing open areas to enhance program space relationships. This project will occur in an occupied building, necessitating extended work hours and a phased approach over two summers.

Work Details
The project involves selective interior demolition and extensive renovation within existing open areas of Indian Head Elementary School. The work includes:
- Complete Open Space Enclosure and Roof Replacement as per the provided drawings and specifications.
- All labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the completion of the project.
- Compliance with local and state codes, including safety regulations as mandated by the Safety Officer and Energy Manager of Charles County Public Schools.

The project also includes several allowances for specific tasks:
- Electrical and technology equipment: $50,000
- Contingency: $50,000
- Additional signage: $5,000
- Removal/replacement of cementitious wood fiber decking: $10,000
- Scraping/priming of steel decking: $12,500
- Removal/replacement of steel decking: $10,000.

Period of Performance
The contract is scheduled to commence with a Notice to Proceed on April 17, 2025. The substantial completion date is set for August 14, 2026, with final acceptance expected by September 28, 2026.

The work will be performed at Indian Head Elementary School located at 4200 Indian Head Hwy, Indian Head, Maryland.
