Description

The Mount Rainier High Visibility Crosswalks, Curb Ramp improvements, and Speed Humps project is set of City -Wide locations that are proposed for the installation of high visibility crosswalks, curb ramp improvements, and speed Humps citywide. Please see attachment. The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (usually referred to as the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, abbreviated MUTCD) is a document used and issued by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT)
Background
The City of Mount Rainier is part of the economic revitalization efforts of Prince George’s County and is located within the Gateway Arts District, which is designated for revitalization through the development of arts and entertainment-oriented businesses.

The City has developed several guiding documents for community revitalization, sustainability, and street improvement, including the Mixed-Use Town Center Zone Design Plan and the Urban Green Infrastructure Master Plan.

Work Details
The project involves the installation of high visibility crosswalks, curb ramp improvements, and speed humps at various city-wide locations in Mount Rainier, MD.

The selected contractor will be responsible for:
1. Conducting a full survey of the project site to understand local conditions;
2. Providing a detailed work schedule including weekly updates;
3. Obtaining necessary permits from the City;
4. Attending progress meetings and submitting weekly progress reports;
5. Designating an engineer for project management and inspections;
6. Submitting a bid that confirms compliance with all requirements.

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within 30 days from the date of award and achieve substantial completion within 60 calendar days from commencement.

Mount Rainier, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least 5 years of successful experience with similar construction projects, preferably in Prince George’s County. They are required to submit a Certificate of Insurance before contract finalization, provide a bid bond of 5% of the bid price, and furnish performance and payment bonds upon contract award.
